Company History
DF Countryman was founded by Donald F Countryman in 1958 as a
specialized representative and stocking distributor servicing the
electrical and OEM Industries in Minnesota, and surrounding states. At
that time, the company took pride in a very high tech client base,
including companies such as Honeywell, CDC, and 3M.
In 1971 DF Countryman was introduced to the rapidly growing Broadband
Cable Industry with the addition of Gilbert Engineering products, a
premier line of coaxial connectors. This venture into the cable
television industry proved to be a great success. The company then began
to acquire other product lines to further expand into this growing
industry.
In the following years DF Countryman had established itself as a
leading distributor for Broadband Telecommunications products in the
Midwest. Due to Its knowledge base, DF Countryman then grew to become
one of the foremost suppliers to colleges, universities, independent
school districts, hospitals, municipalities and private cable companies
supporting Broadband and HFC Networks.
Throughout almost half a century DF Countryman has demonstrated its
resolve in being on the forefront of the always ever expanding
communications industry. Expanding operations by opening a sales office
and distribution center in San Antonio, Texas has given the company the
opportunity to continue expansion in the Midwest and grow nationally.
